Eliza HANCOCK (1823-1908)

Eliza HANCOCK, daughter of Samuel HANCOCK (1772-1862) and Jane UNKNOWN (1783-1863), was born on 3 August 1823 in Cawsand, Cornwall. She married John RICKARD in 1846 in Sheviock, Cornwall. She appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in Crafthole, Cornwall aged 48.1 The address was: Crafthole Village. She appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in Crafthole aged 58.2 The address was: Crafthole Village. She died on 11 November 1908 in Sheviock.

 

John RICKARD was born in 1820 in Sheviock. He appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in Crafthole aged 51.1 The address was: Crafthole Village. On 2 April 1871 he was a Naval Pensioner in Crafthole aged 51. He appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in Crafthole aged 61.2 The address was: Crafthole Village. On 3 April 1881 he was a Greenwich Pensioner in Crafthole aged 61. He died on 13 December 1897 in Sheviock. He and Eliza HANCOCK had the following children:

Eliza Jane RICKARD (1851- ). Eliza was born Q1 1851 in Sheviock. She appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in Crafthole aged 20.1 The address was: Crafthole Village. She married John Henry DAVEY Q2 1871.4 She appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in Crafthole aged 30.2 The address was: Crafthole Village.

William RICKARD (1857- ). William was born Q1 1857 in Sheviock.5 He appeared in the census on 2 April 1871 in Crafthole aged 14.1 The address was: Crafthole Village. He appeared in the census on 3 April 1881 in Crafthole aged 24.2 The address was: Crafthole Village. On 3 April 1881 he was a Gunner RN in Royal Navy aged 24. He appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 in Antony, Cornwall aged 35.6 He appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 in HMS Cambridge aged 35. NOT ON BOARD. On 5 April 1891 William was a 1st Class Petty Officer in HMS Cambridge aged 34.
