Martha SPRIDDLE (1816-1890)

Martha SPRIDDLE, daughter of Thomas SPRIDDLE (1775- ) and Ruth UNKNOWN (1771-1855), was born in 1816. She married Richard CLEMENS on 6 June 1841 in Maker, Cornwall. She married Nathaniel JAGO on 23 January 1856 in Maker. She appeared in the census in 1861 in Kingsand, Cornwall aged 44. The address was: Back Street. She appeared in the census in 1871 in Kingsand aged 55. The address was: Back Street. Charwoman

Richard CLEMENS, son of John CLEMENS ( - ) and Unknown UNKNOWN ( - ), was born in 1810. On 6 June 1841 he was a Sawyer. He died before 1851. He and Martha SPRIDDLE had the following children:

 

Elizabeth CLEMENTS (1836- ). Elizabeth was born in 1836 in Rame, Cornwall.

Martha CLEMENTS (1843- ). Martha was born in 1843 in Rame.

Richard CLEMENTS (1849-1924). Richard was born in 1849 in Kingsand. He appeared in the census in 1871 in Kingsand aged 21. The address was: Back Street. Mariner. Richard died Q3 1924 in Kingsand. He was buried on 3 September 1924 in Maker aged 77. The address was: Higher Row, Kingsand.

 

Nathaniel JAGO, son of George JAGO (1769-1841) and Catherine WILLIAMS (1765-1848), was born on 20 November 1801 in Kingsand. He married Mary Ann Eliza TOMS on 25 September 1826 in East Stonehouse, Plymouth. He appeared in the census in 1861 in Kingsand aged 60. The address was: Back Street. In 1861 he was a Waterman in Kingsand aged 60. He died on 21 April 1861 in Kingsand. He and Martha SPRIDDLE had the following children:

 

Francis JAGO (1857-1936). Francis was born Q1 1857 in Kingsand. He appeared in the census in 1871 in Kingsand aged 14. The address was: Back Street. Scholar. Francis appeared in the census in 1881 in Kingsand aged 24. The address was: Cleave. Fisherman. Francis married Frances Sarah SCREECH on 19 April 1881 in Stoke Damerel, Plymouth. In 1891 he was a Fisherman in Kingsand. He appeared in the census in 1901 in Kingsand aged 44. The address was: Fore Street. Asphalters Labourer (Road). Francis appeared in the census on 2 April 1911 in Cawsand, Cornwall aged 54.1 The address was: Garrett Sreet. On 2 April 1911 he was a Fisherman in Cawsand.1 He died in March 1936 in Kingsand. He was buried on 17 March 1936 in Maker.
